KIDS’ FISHING DAY


Whitecourt Fish and Game Association (WFGA) will have members present at Whitecourt Pond in Festival Park on Saturday June 8th from 10 AM to 2 PM. There is no Cost or Registration required to fish at the pond. Our members will assist youth with their Angling efforts if desired. Bait will be available as well. Bring your own Fishing Rods or you can borrow a rod from one of the WFGA members.

 

Pond Rules

  • Anglers aged 16 to 64 years of age require a Sportfishing License.
  • Adults must be accompanied by a youth under 16 years of age to fish at the pond.
  • All other Provincial Sportfishing Regulations apply when fishing at the pond.


 On June 8th come on out and join the WFGA members. You can experience a very enjoyable sport.

MISSION

Our mission is to promote through education and programs, the conservation and utilization of fish and wildlife and to protect and enhance the habitat they depend upon.


We are a nonprofit society and are affiliated with the Alberta Fish and Game Association.

WE OFFER THE FOLLOWING

  • Access to both a firearms range and an archery range with a valid range pass.
  • 2 scholarships of $1,000 each to high school students going on to post secondary school.
  • Annual hunter's education course.
  • Ladies League, Pistol League, Woodland Archers, and Youth League.
  • Kids Fishing Day, held annually at the pond located in Whitecourt’s Rotary Park.

Membership is required in order to access our firearms range and archery range and can be purchased at Moose Country Chevron.

WFGA GENERAL MEETINGS

Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at the Forestry Training Centre at 7pm.
